Our beliefs
God as Trinitarian
God is three persons that are unique yet are of a single divine essence. The three Persons being God the Father, God the Son and God the Spirit.
Christ as Lord and Redeemer
Jesus Christ is God the Son in flesh and blood. In the book of John, the author explains that God the Son can also be called the Word, and that Word became flesh. The sinless life, death and resurrection of Christ has given us first hand access to the free gift of Grace and Redemption.
The Scriptures
The Christian Bible is given by the inspiration of God and is our ultimate guide for doctrine, correction, and training in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21).
Humankind, the Fall and Redemption
Humankind is a created being, made in the likeness and image of God. Because of Adam and Eve’s fall, sin and evil exist in our world. However, because of the life, death and resurrection of Christ, humanity has been offered redemption from its sin. Salvation is a gift from God to humankind - separate from works and the law - and is activated by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
Water Baptism
Baptism in water is a beautiful way to outwardly express what is happening on the inside. Full immersion in the water represents being surrounded by sin - what it is like to live life without God - and the coming up out of the water represents your coming into newness of life with Christ, in a similar way that Jesus was raised into new life out of the grave.
Gifts of the Holy Spirit
At Haven Worship Center we believe in the active practice of all the gifts of the Holy Spirit. These gifts are always meant to edify the congregation and are not meant to make anyone uncomfortable.
